For those who may not know Jost’s films, he’s a prolific 50 years plus independent film director that can’t stop in one place for long and who’s given to harsh cinema virtuosity. Self taught musician, Jost has also composed and performed songs for some for his films, most notably 1976’s ‘Last Chants for a Slow Dance’ and 1983 ‘Slow Moves’.
This record’s concept was not to isolate and edit out the songs alone when sound is 50% of a film. Always creating new angles and exploring the digital possibilities and technique of the “cinema electronico”, these two films represent a high moment on Jost‘s career.
